Liquid crystal spatial light modulator is a kind of real-time optical device made by liquid crystal molecules using its optical properties. In optical information processing it plays an extensive and important effect. Its application fields include image display, digital holographic, precision measurement and laser light reforming, and with further research, its applications are constantly expanding. Major work of this paper is to discuss some appropriate methods for this widely used measurement devices to test its basic parameters. The first step is to measure liquid crystal spatial light modulator's basic parameter - the number of pixels. Regardless of what kind of functionality, the number of pixels, pixel spacing and pixel occupies emptiescompared is the duty must be known before using it. This paper is shared by four methods of measuring the number of pixels, get results. Test complexity, equipment requirements and the accuracy of the final results of different methods were compared to discuss their respective scope of application. Then we test its complex amplitude modulation characteristics. Starting from the purpose of testing, we made reference to a variety of previous studies on this, take advantage of them, and make up disadvantage of them. In amplitude modulation characteristics measuring, our predecessors in determining the best angles only do it once of the transmittance experiment, we do it twice and get more convincing results. Measurement of the Phase Modulation Characteristics, for Mach - Zehnder interferometer's inherent drawbacks of high requirement of experimental equipment, we used the method of zero point correction to make up of it. And make up a new simple and practical way to do the final Data Processing, which greatly reduces the complexity of data processing.
