With the development of technology and the market economy, science museums and galleries are more and more projects. sand table as an important component of the Science and Technology Museum and the exhibition show the growing concern by many institutions, the Institute has done a lot of its research and development. Conventional sand table does not show the dynamic effect, only a static display of a single physical model.the project dynamic sand table show another way, so that each pixel can display a variety of dynamic patterns. Dynamic exhibition sand table is the future direction of development trends.In this paper, the software and hardware systems of the dynamic sand table have been studied, including elevator drive mechanism of each pixel design, microcontroller-based (MCU) pixel precision motion control system for lifting and PC on the array of pixels coordinated control system. In the specific experiment, by gear rack mechanism, screw the nut body, pulley belt body than the right, the appropriate mechanical transmission has been selected. Meanwhile, at the point of the hardware circuit design, different drive circuit board have been designed and developmented, including L297/L298,THB6064 and THB7128 Driven programs. Finally we decide to use THB7128 as the stepper motor driver chip, the integrated subdivision drive technology of that improves stationary of stepper motor, to a certain extent, improved the stepper motor output torque.Main process as fellow: Step motor driven timing belt pulleys, pixel driven by pulley belt body. pulses sended out by MCU, after the pulse distribution and the power amplifier of the driver chip THB7128, precisely control the stepper motor movement. The dynamic sand table include a total of 15×21 pixels point, so with a 15×21 sets of driver and control board, PC control system is based on VC + + development. First, the pre-configured graphic was read in VC + + environment, each pixel gray value was read out,involking the command. And then the gray value was sent through the data transformation under the crew to coordinate the whole movement of the crew, so that the dynamic sand table show the formation of a predetermined graphic patterns.In the joint efforts of the project team, the prototype dynamic exhibition sand table was successfully developed . Sand table laid the foundation for the future market dynamic event n.and also pointed out the direction of future research priorities, in particular the surface of the sand table thin film materials immediately.
