As the key technology of lightning ditection system,the research of DOA(direction of arrival) estimation and the location of lightning focus on the ground lightning.However,the researchof the cloud lightning has a much shorter history than the ground lightning. But neither of them can estimate theDOA of several independent signals which usually happens in real time.The MUSIC(multiple signal classification)algorithm,which has a super high resolution and canestimate multiple independent signals' angle,can be used to estimate the two dimensional DOA of the cloud lightning signal to get the high precision of location.In spite of the high resolution and good accuracy in estimatin,it has its disad-vantages,such as the complex algorithm system and the huge computation which le-ad to the difficulty of implement in hardware.In order to solve the problem,we use multi-array phase interferometer algorithm as an assistant way to estimate the two-dimension DOA of cloud lightning.In this paper,the eight circular array is used for DOA estimation and the TMS320C6454 is the hardware for the implement.When we use MUSIC algorithm as the way to estimate the signal's DOA on DSP,the first procedure is to complete the pre-processing of covariance matrix of t-he receive signal,which mearns turns the hermite matrix to an real symmetric matrix.Then we have the eigenvalue decomposition to the matrix by using the QR method.The eigenvalue we get can be used to estimate the number of the arrival si-gnals,which the mathod must be the revisal-ET method.The eigenvector and the signal number can be used to peak searching,which is two levals,including big-ste-p searching and little-step searching. We take more attention to the float-to-fixed transfer of the eigenvalue decomposition and the estimation of the number of signals.Also we accomplished research in the storage and operation of 128bit long-bit data.In the last part,we discuss the way of implement of using multi-array phase i-nterferometer algorithm as the way to estimate the signal's DOA on DSP. Obviously,the method to get the phase difference iscorrelation cofficient algorithem.When we talk to the way to get the real phase difference,it's the long-and-short baseline mathod. One is the software part,which focus on the method to tran-sfer the float-point foramt to the fixed-point format.The other one is to discuss the data transformation,focusing on HPI and the format of data stream between FPGA and DSP.Finallywe perform the data of DOA estimation outside,which proves that the project is inthe right direction.
