There is a serious high frequency electromagnetic interference in High-frequency radar,so the system is difficult to find work over a continuous band of silence to satisfy its band. But using the silence of a few discrete bands can get the effective bandwidth. It not only increases the range resolution, but also improves the performance of anti-jamming. As a signal of higher range resolution and big band, people is concerned about multicarrier signal because it has the characteristics of simple structure, flexible design parameters. Based on continuous spectrum and discontinuous spectrum, this paper analysis and research the multicarrier signal designing and processing.The paper describes the basic structure and the mathematical model of the continuous spectrum of multicarrier phase coded (MCPC) signal and multicarrier chirp. And it researched their ambiguity function, autocorrelation function and power spectral density .It also analysis the advantages and disadvantages of multi carrier signal. A two-dimension signal processing method which can make a measurement of the target's speed as well as the range is brought forward on the basis of waveform parameter designing. The simulation is also taken.Since the echo signal processing of the continuous spectrum can't be directly used in the discontinuous spectrum of the multicarrier signal .This paper proposed a theory to ensure the subcarrier is orthogonal by setting the frequency interval. On this basis, we can use the echo signal processing of the continuous spectrum of the multicarrier signal by changing the sampling frequency .The simulation results are compared between the continuous discontinuous spectrum of multicarrier echo signal. Resulting from the discontinuous spectrum, the sidelobes of the range is raised. Using the interpolation method to suppress the sidelobes can get a good result.
