Aircraft assembly is an important process of aircraft manufacturing. Aircraftassembly is a process of combination and connection of a lot of aircraft componentsaccording to drawings and technical requirements. Aircraft component butt is animportant process of aircraft assembly. Aircraft component butt uses adjacentcomponents to form large-scale aircraft. Since1990s when Boeing started to usepaperless design and digital manufacturing for B777, digital assembly technology inthe developed countries is developing rapidly. As the development of non-contactmeasurement, automatic positioning and adjustment, and the flexible assemblytechnology, automatic butt technology research has made great achievements both athome and abroad. Automatic butt technology has been applied to actual assemblyprocess in some foreign aircraft company and obtains good application results.Domestic aircraft assembly, especially component butt, mostly uses traditionaladjustment method. There are still some problems while using advanced measurement,positioning and adjustment equipment. The automation level of aircraft componentbutt is not high. Special measurement datum for aircraft automatic butt is not providedas needed. A complete controlling software system is required for component butt.According to the above problems, this article mainly summarized as follows.Firstly, put forward the software system framework of components butt. In thispaper aircraft components butt system is divided into measurement system,positioning and adjustment system (NC locator) and integrated control softwaresystem. The main goal is to construct a complete and automatic butt software system,which include program management of aircraft components butt, control and management of butt process, management of hardwares (positioning and adjustmentsystem, measurement system) and3D simulation etc.Secondly, this paper solves the problems of laser tracker pose calibration andaircraft components pose calculation. Firstly, this paper deduces the pose calibrationof multi-laser-tracker integrates measurement results of multi-laser-tracker to onecoordinate system and puts forward the mathematical basis of multi-laser-trackercalibration results. Secondly this paper deduces the calculation formula of aircraftcomponent pose in laser tracker measurement coordinate system.Thirdly, the functions of aircraft components butt software are designed. The buttcontrol software is divided into three parts, which includes wizard integrationplatform, hardware management and3D simulation. According to process flow ofintegration platform, the platform is divided into program management, automaticadjustment, manual adjustment, log management and authority management etc.Laser tracker and positioning instrument are introduced. Laser tracker configurationand management modules are designed.3D simulation system is detailed designed.Lastly, Development and validation of the aircraft component butt software arecarried out..
