Soda-lime glass, because of the advantages of low price, easy preparation and stability physical and chemical properties, become the most widely used glass material in the industrial and domestic. Meanwhile because today's electronic products tends to be more lighter and thinner , the trend of the industrial production of soda lime glass as raw material to the touch screen and the display causes higher processing requirements. The mechanized processing is very hard to meet the requirements of processing fine soda-lime glass effectively. More and more people who turn their attention to laser machining manage to use the laser processing the soda-lime glass. In reference to this article on the basis of previous studies, more effective methods of processing glass could be found by changing the laser processing parameters and more in-depth study on laser machining.First, establish an equation of heat conduction conforms to realistic processing conditions, the corresponding heat equation initial conditions and boundary conditions. Simulate temperature distribution on the glass surface in different processing parameters.Followed, carrying out the tunable CO2 laser drilling experiment Specific research method: Let the tunable lasers work in a pulsed manner, by changing the laser wavelength, power, pulse width and other processing parameters, studied the relation between the widths of holes and processing parameters. The results showed that the increase in laser power and pulse width will increase the width of the carter increases. Wavelength changes also can affect the width of the hole.Finally, the Q-switch CO2 laser was used to carry out the cutting experiment of soda-lime glass. The impacts of laser power, scanning speed and scanning direction on the cutting quality is studied. The results showed that the depth of the seam was greatly influenced by cutting speed while the width of seam less affected by processing parameters, and the cutting direction has little influence on the cutting efforts. As the local temperature difference was too large, there were a lot of cracks in the vicinity of the kerf .
