The Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a non-invasive imaging technology, can provide living in sexual tracer distribution launch of three-dimensional images.For PET data transmission have many kinds of processing way, For example based on VME bus transfer, based on the PCI bus transfer and now the popular Ethernet-based transmission. This paper in order to make PET data acquisition system to satisfy with the high real-time, and easy to implement networking, etc, so adopt ethernet-based required to transmit PET system data technology.This thesis studies the W5100 network chip based on the embedded network transmission scheme, relative to the general network chip, W5100 is a new multi-functional mere network interface chip. Use W5100 need not consider Ethernet control and needs only simple port (Socket) programming, and not spend a lot of time on the underlying network protocolr, thus application protocols development short development cycle, simple, based on embedded system used in the SOPC network transmission, have a big advantage.The thesis first introduces the data acquisition system of Micro-PET prototype,and leads to frame data format of the single event information. Then detailed describes the software and hardware design of the W5100 peripherals based on SOPC. Carried out a detailed test of TCP, UDP transport and then carried out a test of network transmission in the small animal prototype machine. It meets the basic requirements of the system .In this thesis introduces in detail the W5100 network chip based on embedded network system hardware and software design and implementation scheme, and for PET system related TCP, UDP protocol transmission for a comprehensive test, including stability, transmission speeds and network packet loss rate.At the end of the thesis , the work of this paper are summarized, further work is prospected.
