These researches are based on the requirements of networking, information and automation of home terminal equipments and tendency of convergence of home businesses. As for the needs of multimedia content display and businesses'expansion capability, it develops and deploys a multiservice operation platform which has excellent interface. Besides, it realizes a karaoke vod streaming media business system.The karaoke system consists of server and set-top box(STB). The server reads the global configuration files. Then, it creates resources such as computer memory, messages, logs, and files. After that, it initializes tasks and enters event handling cycle. The STB's software implementation plan is to create a set of embedded software platform ONTOS by using Linux kernel source. This platform includes operation system, middleware and application software. The underlying operation system uses standard Linux kernel. Any application developed for digital 3C devices can be run directly on this platform without any modification. Middleware consists of data base and JAVA virtual machine. It is convenient to extend many applications and transplant many mobile applications.
