Finding and judging pavement distress in early period are becoming very important contents on pavement management ,which can avoid greater losses of people and property.With the rapid development of pavement-build in our cities ,the traditional manual methods can't meet the needs of pavement distress detection now, because they have the following shortcomings such as time-consuming,dangerous,and costly.As the quick expend of computer and photoelectricity technology, new technology for pavement distress test, including extracting accurately, positioning precise, cracks classification, are necessary.This paper investigates the advanced processing systems of asphalt pavement test,including equipment cars,rapid and precise cameras to screen pavement images, the system of digital image processing in the way of off-line or real-time and some image processing algorithms.Then analysis several classification methods about pavement cracks and have research on three types of pavement cracks respectively.For strong-noise cracks on vertical and horizontal,this paper uses Mask dodging and the partially overlapping sub-block histogram equalization method to adjust the brightness which can reduce the effects of uneven illumination.Considering this crack has no clear edge, this paper uses threshold segment algorithm in image segmentation. At last , use tensor voting to extract cracks.For pumping cracks,use artificial-life pre-processing method to enhance images. Then bring in denseness to judge whether there are cracks in those images. For patching cracks,adjust the brightness using Mask dodging firstly.Considering the patching area has edges, this paper chooses self-adaption Canny edge detection algorithm .Use ALE and small connected domain to reduce image noise . At the end , carry on lots of algorithm experimentals and the results of extraction is good. The algorithms in this research can be applied to analyze asphalt pavement cracks automatically, and provide scientific ground for the highway management and maintenance department.
