Dissertation Auxiliary Writing System Basic On Word Automation

There are usually strict requirement placed on the graduate and undergraduate thesis writing formats, which, in addition, vary with the college, discipline and even the research group. Many students may spend a large amount of time modifying their thesis time and again due to format nuances and spelling errors according to surveys. This thesis aims to develop a writing assistance system providing the functionality of format adjustment and basic correction of word use by taking advantage of various properties of Word documents, object serialization technology as well as programming automation of Word. All the defined functionalities are achieved using VBA technology, exploiting the power of MVC layered structure along with an auxiliary data persistence layer, employing XML files for storage throughout the analysis, organization and correction of the text of the Word documents.This system allows students to write more efficient by highlighting basic errors of format or word use which can be eliminated at ease later. To this end, embedded Word programming method to manipulate text and formats is used for the thesis writing assistance system. The implemented functionalities includes such large modules as selection and configuration of thesis rules and detection, analysis and correction of thesis, generation of update documents and editing reports, in addition to fine grained functionalities such as reference order adjustment, blank paragraph removal, text and paragraph style adjustment, list item and numbering style adjustment, caption adjustment of graphs and tables for all the correction tasks.The implementation is elaborated in six chapters, in which the first chapter outlines the background and generalized information; the second and third chapters detail the technical solutions, with the latter chapter lends forceful support with the patented technics; the fourth chapter offers circumstantial holistic design and the concrete implementation is in chapter 5; the last chapter concludes the thesis and envisages future work. This thesis based on actual needs, extends to students a complete and reliable application.
