Recently, with the constant expansion of vocational colleges, high-efficiency management of teaching resources becomes a vital problem worth of studying. Take Guangzhou City Construction College for example, many jobs such as asset management, course scheduling, device management and laboratory management have to be completed manually by relevant personnel. Therefore arise many problems---- uncirculated data, obstructed management and unclear check of assets, just to name a few.In order to solve this problem, this paper studies the development of laboratory management system on the basis of UML modeling. Once the system is realized, most work involving laboratory management can be done on the Internet. This system will reduce the workload of laboratories, coordinate the campus-wide use of laboratory and the purchase of laboratory consumables, conduct network course test and arrange labs properly for open extracurricular activities. Therefore students'learning desire will be fully satisfied and the laboratory's occupating coefficient will be improved.As a project of software system development, its system modeling process is very critical. It is very important for system maintenance, quality improvement as well as the stability of the system. Based on developing concept of software engineering, this paper studies modeling application of UML (Unified Modeling Language) in the development process of this software system.Taking Guangzhou City Construction College and its laboratory management system development as an example, this paper applies UML to the whole process of system design, analyzes the requirement of the system; builds cases, designs model, describes the static or dynamic behavior features of the system in different stages, etc.The results of this paper have certain reference significance for further development of software system and laboratory management informationization in vocational colleges.
