The three-dimensional digital detection of the complex surface has been the key factor of controlling the product quality. The key technology to detect the object surface efficiently and precisely based on features surface, is to develop a reasonable path planning based on the characteristics of the geometry object, and design data processing algorithms for specific types of measurement data. On the basis of the analysis to research achievements for the three-dimensional digital detection of the complex surface, this article introduced the digital detection methods based on the characteristics of the complex surface. According to the actual structure of the object appearance, the article designed the appropriate detection methods, consequently improved the detection efficiency and precision of the object surface and made the further treatment and analysis of measurement data more convenient.Consulting lots of three-dimensional measuring materials home and abroad, I summarised the principles and the processes of the 3D-measurement specialized on the complex surface components. I applicated the measuring technology based on features to the digital probe on complex surface after delving on the theories of ordinary digitalization, hardwares development, the feature concepts. In addition, the gross frame of the digital measuring systems on the basis of features , which is specialized on complex surface, is proposed.Delving on the principles of plan of surface measurement constricted to features, both kinetic parameters of mechanical devices and the references of the laser tansmitter are applicated to the measurement plan to ensure its feasibility and efficiency. Appropriate points cloud processing algorithms are broached on the basis of features of points cloud, including noise exorcising, data simplization, edges recognizing.Reaserching on list redundant removal and the proframme compiling, algorithm of reading the STL document by VC is advanced. On amelioration of established ICP algorithm, this paper put forward an especial matching algorithm in view of the point clouds and the original CAD moldel to improve the matching efficiency. Means to appraise and present the error is broached to express and analyse the results.The practicality is proved by the example which is consisted of Visual C++6.0 object oriented programming language and the OPENGL interface contriving grounded on the techniques above.
