Through comprehensive comparison, analysis and learning from the forest resources management information system (FRMIS) developing technologies and cutting-edge open source GIS platform architecture. Yuntai Mountain Nature Reserve in Jiangsu Province is taken as a research object, according to the current component development defects of commercial GIS, such as high cost, poor opening and low flexibility. By comprehensive integrated technologies of the latest open source GIS components development, controls packaging and open source spatial database interface, the forest resources management information system in Yuntai Mountain (YTSGIS v1.0) is established, the decision supports of forest resources information management and aided planning are provided for Yuntai Mountain Nature Reserve.YTSGIS v1.0 is developed on the platform of MS. NET Framework 3.5, by means of AxMap control and functional interfaces which are supplied by MapWinGIS one of the open source GIS components, the basic functions of GIS system are implemented. By the use of its extended interfaces, editing module of spatial data is customized. Through the technology of data exchange middleware, system logic layer and the open source PostgreSQL database (PostGIS as the shell of spatial data, hybrid integration of spatial and attribute data access) are seamless linked. With MS GDI+ graphics libraries package GIS mapping control. Statistical analysis libraries of common tree species in biomass and productivity are designed. System-wide plug-in architecture is applied to extend the software functionalities step by step, in order to save software maintenance costs, enhance system flexibility and scalability.Seamlessly integrated open source technologies of GIS component and spatial data storage (PostgreSQL+PostGIS); efficiently concordance of all plug-in architecture and program design of full open source code; GIS features customizing, component packaging and introduction of ecological factors analysis library explore a new forest resources management information system development model of low-cost, high-opening, strong extendibility, and high flexibility, which will make a reference meaning for forestry information and related software industry in the new era.
