Along with the expansion of the Internet, its breakdown has already become an inevitable daily event. The breakdown will interfere network service by causing interruption of the service, data loss, and even collapsing the networks. Because of the wide application of real-time network services such as VoIP and online video, people need high quality of the network transmission. In the traditional IP network, when links or nodes break down, these break down links or nodes will be passed by the convergence of the route protocol. For OSPF protocol, it will at least take 5 seconds, in which data going through the wrong nods or links will be abandoned. It is hard to accept for the real-time application. So the researches to improve the slow routing convergence are of high value in practical use.In this article, we propose a new OSPF redundant route algorithm supporting IP route fast repaire to improve the slow routing convergence of OSPF protocol. A prototype of multi-route redundancy OSPF protocol is realized based on high performance core router platform. Multi-route redundancy OSPF protocol uses BFD technology to get the linkage model that can prompt examine and response to network failure. The multi-route redundancy OSPF protocol is tested through network simulator, the switching time of the entire forwarding route is reduced to 500ms, which is less than one tenth of the original switching time. This protocol can make good support to real-time network services.
