Research And Implementing Of NewsML-based News Management And Distribution System

News,the most important forms of information,are integrated with the Internet more and more closely.At the age of Internet,the forms such as picture,audio and vedio have already replaced the single form,text.According to the need of Internet news production, trans-mission and exchange, International Press Telecommunications Council developed NewsML,a multimedia news standard based on XML. NewsML-based news managerment and distribution system can manage news data efficiently as well as implement editing,modifying, searching and distributing news data.NewsML has characteristics such as tree-formed,self-description,expansibility as same as XML.How to store,manage and distribute NewsML data conveniently will become focal point of this paper. There are two main solutions for XML data management.One is XML-Enabled Database which is related database that support functions of XML management. Another is native XML database which is appropriable for XML data characteristics.This paper analyzes native XML database technology of storage and query, and then it will be applied for research and implement the system.NewsML editor is a very important part of NewsML-based news managerment and distribution system.It will integrate news elements into NewsML document.It also can store NewsML into database and update data from database.The editor is implemented by using XForms.The paper analyzes teconology of XForms and illustrates its characteristics that performance,logic and data separation detailed.The editor submits XForms data as stream,which will apply to the system.The paper also analyzes functions and syntax of XQuery, XML query language and demonstrates the realizability of querying and distributing NewsML by using XQuery.At last the system is analyzed by UML.And then it analyzes what kind of framework would be used for the system.The answer is three-tier Browser/Server architecture.The three-tier architecture includes presentation layer,middle layer and data layer.Then it designs the data model of NewsML which will be used for the system.Last it illustrates some system function modules and technology difficult points such as NewsML editor, NewsML data management, news retrieval and publication.Figure [24] Table [2] Reference [46]...
