With vigorous development of all kinds of interact application,3G networks can not satisfy customers' increasing needs any more. Nowadays the global communication industry displays the traits of Mobility, Broadband and IP-based Architecture. In this situation, ITU (International Telecommunications Union) has placed a higher demand IMT-Advanced, which called 4G technology. Most of the operators world wide have chose LTE as their evolution tendency of future networks, LTE has became the winner standard of 4G..LTE is short for Long Term Evolution, which is based on OFDM physical layer technology. OFDM becomes physical layer technology of radio system, which is based on OFDM technology item, OFDM not only can loss multi-path fading, which promises wireless communication is good, but also can boost the frequency efficiency, which gets user gain. This thesis first gives an introduction of the physical layer techniques of LTE system and the design of the LTE scheduling including resource distribution, scheduler, scheduling mode and schedule algorithm. Then we introduce three classic schedule algorithms:RR (Round Robin). Max C/I (Maximum Carrier of Interference) and PF (Proportional Fair) and primarily illustrates the QoS schedule algorithm applied by LTE. Based on the above analysis, we propose a new algorithm named M-PF(Modified Proportion Fair) which can guarantee the QoS of not only the non-real-time traffic but also the real-time traffic. At last, meaningful conclusions were gained based on the simulation comparison of RR, Max C/I and PF algorithms in the MATLAB simulation platform. For the key point, we analyze simulation results of the new M-PF algorithm and identify the performance improvement.
