It has, UV laser technology, a widely applicable prospect in the areas of the lithography, laser spectroscopy, laser detection and so on, the existing work material is very difficult to directly output UV laser, while it is one of effective methods to achieve UV laser output by the use of nonlinear optical frequency conversion technology. This paper analyzes and study UV laser from theory and experimentThis paper, first of all, introduces the laser Q-technology and laser working substance, and analyzes the working substance of how can meet the requirement of laser. The paper on the basis of analyzing the nonlinear crystal and nonlinear optical frequency conversion technology, from the theory we studied how to improve the efficiency of the optical sum frequency generation (SFG), and factors which can impact the efficiency of sum frequency. Then it has a research on the heat distribution of the laser crystal and the thermal stress caused by heat distribution. In the experiment, we use laser sum frequency to get the critical phase matching out the cavity which use the frequency doubling crystal of KTP(class II) and sum frequency crystal of LBO(class I), though this we achieve a UV laser output of 355nm. When the repetition frequency of acousto-optic Q-frequency is 4KHz, we get, the average power is 110mW, the UV laser of 355nm, and the width of single pulse is 205ns.
