Design And Implement For Digital Set Top Box Middle Layer Software

With the development of the digital Television technologies, digital TV set-top-box will become the main cable TV product and have a very good market perspective in China. However, there are lots of different kinds of TV set-top-box which equip different hardware and software. Thus, not only the price and cost of them maintain higher, but also the developing time keeps longer. Therefore, in this thesis, based on standards of MPEG-2 and DVB-C, we proposed the scheme of the DVB-C STB middle layer software, which could help to reduce the developing cost and cycle of the TV set-top-box.We develop the middle layer software on Sti5197 hardware systems and test it on both the Sti7167 and the Hi3110EV hardware system. The test results show that our middle layer software could adopt different hardware system and thus it is practical and advanced. The contents of this thesis is as followings.1,Introduce the architecture of DVB-C digital TV system, the related technologies and protocols;2, Describe the whole framework of the DVB-C STB middle layer software;3,Describe my main work,the design of the service information module,in detail.
