IPTV (Internet TV) is a new technology and business in the process of digital technology development. And the database system, as a data supporter for system-wide back-end systems, is a core system of IPTV。It is an indispensable role for the operation and development of IPTV. How integrate database systems into the IPTV system, so that it could suitable for the development of IPTV services, is very important course in the IPTV design.The mainly study of this paper is focused on how to proceed functions design in earlier stage,combininig the IPTV application,and how to proceed maintenance design in later stage.How to verificate performance and availability of the database design effectively.The main work of this paper is analysing the needs of some modules, processing the database conceptual design, logical database design and database physical design,based on the principles and steps of database design,and combined with the IPTV system..It focus on strengthening the cluster architecture design and database capacity estimation in the database physical design.It simulate all kinds of failure to test high-availability database,for the database design schema; simulate application to make stress testing of data access in some extreme cases,for verifying its high-availability requirements and performance requirements.The innovation of this paper is that used two databases cluster structure including both Oracle and MySQL in design, according to the characteristics of each subsystem;make a comprehensive assessmen of two high-availability database; and do a comprehensive performance testing for the popular database in market to verify the database selection rules,aim at business requirements for the IPTV system.
