In recent years, web application system with the continuous development of network technology is palying an important role in people's daily life. As the complexity and scale of the web application system is increasing,how to build an efficient and friendly user experience of the web become a hot topic. In this paper, with the introduction of web engineering, the author point out that modeling activities plays a lot as the guidance for a program in the process of building a web application. Web engineering advocate the use of an agile and standardized framework to build high-quality web applications, a common framework for the construction WebApp follow these steps, Communication-Planning-Modeling-Construction-Deployment. Modeling that based on actual needs of the requirements of the target system not only help to give very abstract and detailed requirements, but also can make the documental description of the incremental plan and give a standardized structure and behavior of the system as a guide template. In the new release of Java EE 6 specification, JSF 2.0 also as the JSR 314 specification. is used. As one of the official Java Web development standard, JSF technically has these visual development, reusable UI components, managed Bean and EL expression language, centralized navigation and event-driven advantages. Using web engineering applications, the modeling activities of system that implemented with JSF specification can enhance the efficiency of development from two better aspects. The one hand, choosing the appropriate modeling language methods can give an excellent guidance in actual development, on the other JSF specification frame for the application itself will be able to develop methodology to improve a efficiency and simple development process. The author hopes to create a JSF standard model and to guide the web-based development process based on implementation of JSF framework with the advantages of JSF Web application development specification and combined with Web engineering modeling activities.In the development process of web modeling, there were many description language of web modeling, such as HDM, HDMlite, OOHDM, RMM, Aranenus, WebML. There are more or less some disability of these modeling language in the aspect of the ability to describe the system functions, information modeling and general modeling capability, so selecting an approach of modeling description is essential for the model. We choose the Web application modeling extension language (WAE) which is extended by UML (Unified Modeling Language), WAE is developed through the specification based on UML semantics-based graphics and extended as "version of type", express of Web application architecture via increasing web feature elements. Using WAE can meet a part of needs of the requirement of web application system, what's more, improving WAE modeling in some aspects will enhance the adaptability to achieve the purpose of model description. This article focuses on Web application modeling using improved UML extensions WAE to describe the model based on JSF specification.
