AS social development is driven by the Internet technology, the demands of the router and switch become more and more. In order to obtain high profits, make good quality products and create high brand reputation, Manufacturers continue to explore new means of repair for the device, and by improving the techniques of fault diagnosis to reduce device repair costs, time costs and labor costs, which increase the maximum profit margins and improve the competitiveness of the market.According to the actual needs of the maintenance department in Maipu Communications, the thesis introduced the woking principle of the objects, such as TCAM, interface of switch, POE, SPD, HiGig and BASE. Consequently the thesis put much attention to discuss the design and implement of their detective driver. Firstly, this thesis introduced the fault diagnosis technology and analyzed the status of the fault diagnosis technology in the nation and overseas, and then, introduced the framework, hardware and software systems of the router and switch. This thesis also introduced system structure, function composition and working principle of the fault diagnosis technology. In addition, this thesis detailed introduced the detected driver module which is the one among the three module in the fault diagnosis system through the analysis of system requirements. AS the detected driver module is composed by the various ways and means for the object, in this thesis various detect ways was designed for different object. Finally, the main function of the realization and testing examples were demonstrated.The fault diagnosis system has passed two phases of tests:a andβtests,It is now formally put into use by the factory. This system not only provides two displays and operation ways of the GUI and Console command line, and can accurately locate the functional fault of the object.Therefore,the efficiency of the maintenance staffs have been effectively improved, meanwhile the manufacturers'costs have been reduced in the production area. The system has a good and practical result in the practical application.
