Er:YAGcrystal under certain conditions can produce2.94μm laser output, And the water absorption peaks is right at the wavelength, Therefore the laser light sources in medical treatment has the very broad application and development prospect. For the demand of new medical laser in medical field, a laser is designed and produced witch has 2.94μm wavelength and certain working frequency.This article studies from the laser three-level system theory analysis, and deduceds laser threshold value of conditions by three-level system of laser rate equation. And on this basis through theoretical analysis and simulation determines the laser other conditions of parameter selection. It includes laser crystal, pump sources, light-gathering cavity and resonator. Finally We completed the whole structure design of the laser, and analyses the experimental research.The laser's technical indexes are:The output wavelength of laser is2.94μm; Maximum output energy is 15mJ; The highest working frequency is 20Hz; Laser pulse width is 75μs.
