Solid-state lasers, owing to their durability and long operational lifetime have long been preferred for many practical applications in science and technology. Tunable solid state lasers are widely used in recent years. Particularly, Tunable output of Cr4+:forsterite is applied to biomedical imaging and other medical fields. This thesis implements the theoretical analysis of optimization of the Cr4+:forsterite laser in room- temperature, it is summarized as follows:1. To derive the gain medium input and output exact expressions of the 4-level laser. In order to better understand the transition processes of Cr4+:forsterite in the detailed analysis and discussion, so improve the 4-level system for the 5-level system2. Analysis of the laser beam in the crystal in the thermal loading, propagation equation of Gaussian laser beam is derived and simulated by numerical calculations.3. Simulation and analysis thermal effect of Cr4+:forsterite laser, derivation and calculation figure of merit (FOM) formula of thermal loading lifetime.
