With the development of laser technology, the application of laser transmission in atmosphere has arouse more and more attention of every county, such as laser communication, laser radar, laser weapon, laser ranging and laser energy transport, etc.. The atmospheric turbulence will cause random variation of laser transmission in the atmosphere which will seriously restrict the service performances of different laser engineering systems, and even decide the technical feasibility of laser engineering system. Therefore, the study on turbulence effect of laser transmission in atmosphere has important significance on theory and application.Considering the random characteristic of atmosphere channel, this study examined the effect of atmosphere random channel on semiconductor laser transmission. It analyzed the effect of atmosphere absorption and scattering on semiconductor laser transmission and studied the effect on semiconductor laser transmission in atmospheric turbulence from phase fluctuation, angle of arrival fluctuation, intensity fluctuation, atmospheric scintillation, beam shift and expansion, among which we centered on light intensity fluctuation and laser beam shift and made detailed research on them. We designed a real-time display system of spots and made plentiful field experiments with it. We measured laser spots in different weather conditions at different times and then made comparative analysis to the data obtained, through which we concluded that the turbulence intensity in the day was higher that that of dark hours; The turbulence intensity in low-humidity weather was higher than that of high-humidity weather; In the condition of high visibility, laser lost less energy in transmission and played performance fully.
