P2P technology is one of the main technical which changes the Internet application model,one has actually become a basis for content delivery technology. But P2P consumes the majorityof telecom operators network bandwidth resources, directly affects the ISP's other applications toa large extent. In this context, one can make P2P and network operators through directcommunication, better cooperation in the new technology --- P4P come into being, its purpose isto strengthen the ISP and P2P communications applications, reduce network transmissionbackbone pressure and operating costs, and improve the performance of P2P applications.P4P stands for "Proactive network Provider Participation for P2P", which is a flexible,lightweight application framework, the main idea is P2P applications open between telecomoperators and explicit Communication interfaces, P2P clients can call the interface by thenetwork information, enable more efficient use of network resources, improve the performanceof P2P applications.Currently, P4P technology is still theoretical research phase, we propose a prototype systemabout network monitor server based on P4P technique, from interface design requirements andtheoretical analysis, focusing on considering its simplicity, Semantic richness, scalability,stability and robustness of such requirements and the goals of maximizing utilization of networklinks,and put the server in the ARES network,get the result of performance and functional test.The importance of network monitor server is self-evident, it is the communication bridgebetween P4P framework, the research and design of stable and robust network monitor servertechnology can speed up the popularity of P4P, reconciles the conflict of interest between P2Pand telecom operators, and gets the recognition of the industry.
