The characteristics of sensor lead Wireless. Sensor networks (WSN) are energy constrained. WSN have several special characteristics which include shortage of energy, difficulty with energy supply and so on. Therefore, to prolong the life time of wireless sensor networks by reducing power consumption should consider normal functioning of all aspects. The current energy conservation programs, including common sensor network clustering management, node sleep / wake and energy-saving routing. This thesis introduces WSN and the research status of WSN energy-saving, summaries the system structure and characteristics of the wireless sensor hardware and software, application areas of wireless sensor and analyzes the common energy-saving algorithms for WSN. This thesis proposes a novel protocol that conducts a probabilistic traffic analysis to identify and cache only the subset of redundant transfers that yields most traffic savings. This approach is verified to perform close enough to a solution built on exhaustive analysis and unconstrained caching to be practicable. On this basis, the repetition data suppression protocol is applied in the energy-efficient redundant node tree method. This thesis puts up simulation experiment by OMNET++. Experimental results show that the algorithm fully improves the utilization of redundant nodes, makes use of redundant nodes to manage and utilize different clusters, and extends the life cycle of wireless sensor networks.
