Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) is appeared over the past decade, low insertion loss, high quality factor, high power capacity of a new type of waveguide devices, A variety of SIW passive and active devices based on PCB and LTCC technology has the advantages of traditional metal waveguide and planar circuit. Production costs and design complexity in the microwave and millimeter wave band have an unparalleled advantage. The main content in this paper is measurement of complex permittivity based on substrate integrated waveguide resonant method and multilayer LTCC technology-based cavity filter design.The first chapter of the paper describes SIW's background, recent trends and applications at the international level. Then make a general description about the main contents of article.In order to solve the problem of connections between substrate integrated waveguide devices and other circuit and for the convenience of the test, the second chapter firstly introduced several commonly used conversion SIW structure and performance parameters, determined the coupling and feed structure in this paper. Secondly discussed resonance measurement in detail based on the dielectric constant of SIW. Then describes the measurement of the dielectric constant of traditional testing methods and their advantages and disadvantages, combined the SIW technology, proposed a new test model using resonance method, for its performance and test accuracy, a series of simulation experiments will be done.In the third chapter, some useful design and simulation will be made for microwave filters based on Substrate integrated waveguide technology and LTCC multilayer technology. If realize the classical multi-cavity filter with the idea of SIW, using LTCC technology, it will be more beneficial to its seamless integration of other active devices in the circuit board.
