Research Of Heterogeneous Data Conversion Technology Based On XML

With rapid development of the Internet and database storage technology, government and business have developed in different information systems during their development time. Because of the different database technology, different development tools, different development environments and different platforms, the characteristics of heterogeneous of management systems is very common. With the trend of information technology, the staffs usually depend on the information system providing information to complete the work. In many cases, they require a combination of many aspects of information to coordinate, which makes some of the independent existence of a single information system can not meet the work requirements.Today, the Internet is seen everywhere, the Information system development direction is how to do effective integration of variety of heterogeneous data in the database, how to share data from different information systems, and make sure the data is well displayed to the users. To achieve the sharing of these heterogeneous information data, it is not reality to develop new systems for the time, money, and the concrete implementation, and the enterprises need the data connectivity and sharing. The key to solve this problem is to integrate various heterogeneous data from different systems to realize the effective transformation and sharing.XML technology has become one of the most popular techniques on the network, with the superiority of structured, scalable, self-description and data exchanging, it has attracted great attention by scholars. Now many data stored in different formats on different operating systems need to be exchanged, for XML has a common data representation format, it can be used as an intermediary to solve sharing problem between the heterogeneous database systems.Based on the research of XML technology, we select XML documents to be the intermediary between heterogeneous databases during data exchanging, designed and implemented a transformation platform of heterogeneous database data exchanging based on XML. After took into account the structure of two databases in real situation, we designed conversion rules, mapping documents, etc. provide a convenience for the units working with the two databases.
