With the rapid development of computer technology,more and more people do their research on machine vision with great enthusiasm. Machine vision can simulate the function of human eyes by establishing a communication system with camera and computer.It can extract effective information from image or image sequence after processing,this can help us to recognize the object from their morphology and movement. One of the important jobs of machine vision is to extract the specific objects from image.The speed, precision and accuracy of extracted target directly determine the effectiveness of moving targets identification and tracking.Color image is the most approximation description to the objective world in all kinds of optical image. So do research on color image processing can easily gain more effective information. This paper focuses on the in-depth research of color image segmentation and target extraction method, and done some research work,an effective color image target extraction with comprehensive background method was presented, and was successfully applied to the target extracted system,and the experimental platform for image processing and object extract was realized by LabVIEW.Firstly,this paper studied the common target extraction algorithm,including image segmentation method,frame difference method,minus background method, clustering analysis and optical flow method,then analyzed the principle of each algorithm in detail,especially verified various kinds of threshold segmentation and clustering analysis algorithm for image segmentation,and successfully applied to the target extraction experimental platform.Secondly,an effective color image target extraction with comprehensive background method was predented,this is the important innovation points in this paper.This algorithm put forward a kind of color threshold segmentation combining wand processing of complex background color image target and background separation method on the analysis of the automatic threshold segmentation,single color factor threshold segmentation,HSL model,morphology and wand processing. Compared with the traditional automatic threshold segmentation algorithm,the applicable scope of color image is more extensive. For the smaller difference grey scale image after grey transformation,this method still has very good separation result.Finally,developed the target extraction system experiment platform,build the overall structure of complete system according to the design requirements.In this part,introduced the main module function,software design ideas and concrete realization scheme,and gave the analysis of the results.The Lab VIEW and NI-IMAQ Vision development platform was convenient to realize the various algorithms,the interactive interface was very practical. In additional the development environment greatly shortened the system development cycle,and easily implemented and maintained.
