| Since the concept of data storage continue upgrading, enterprise or individual have to upgrade currently used server system in order to have more competitive data storage capacity and data access speed. Many companies will choose to buy HBA control card. So they can arbitrarily expand their storage capacity. As the BIOS embedded software has the role of detecting the card, configurate the devices and booting to OS, so we need to develop the greate performance BIOS software.After analyzing the requirements of storage controller, introducing the situation of HBA development, the development of BIOS software and the principle of HBA, with the Marvell Odin6440 storage HBA as example, this article describes the method of BIOS developing method and process base on the BIOS software research methods and process. Then it describes the testing requirements and contents for BIOS software. According to the users'feedbacks, it proves this is successful software which accomplishes all functions for BIOS requirements, and has great speed for data reading and writing. Also it lists the limitation for BIOS develop and the improvement for BIOS in the future. |
