Due to the special geographical location and its development, Xinjiang has alwaysbeen home to many religions at which many races are mixed together. This pattern has lastedever since. Religion especially Islam has an important impact on the lives of minority people inXinjiang. Because of the pattern of multi-ethnic group and multi-religion inXinjiang, religious and ethnicstatus of Southern Xinjiang is more complex.Therefore, the atheistic education faces many practical difficulties and problems inminority primary and secondary schools of Southern Xinjiang. Considering the history, currentsituation and development of Xinjiang, investigating and analyzing the situation ofstrengthening the atheistic education among minority students of Southern Xinjiang, the authoruses the methods of individual interviews, sample surveys, statistical analysis, and access toinformation, theoretical research to write this paper by on the basic of Marxist view ofreligion and science atheism. Above all of these, the core problem is how to make scientificatheism education with targeted and effective. There are three parts for the elaborationand argumentation.Part I: An investigation is carried out which is relevant with religion and atheism educationin minority students of Southern Xinjiang through questionnaires and interviews. The resultsshow the existence of religious belief and vague understanding of the Marxist view of religionin minority students. Hence, it is imperative to strengthen atheism education.Part II: Though the results of the investigation, this part analyzes reasons of thisphenomenon, which is minority students of Southern Xinjiang have religiousbeliefs and weak scientific atheism. Such causes include: lagging in economic development, thelow level of scientific and cultural qualities, effectiveness of atheistic education, a strong socialand religious atmosphere, the "three forces" using of religion to the penetration to schools, therevival of Islam in surrounding Asian countries, the impact of cross-border ethnic and so on.Part III: Countermeasures. It is a systematic project to strengthen scientificatheism education among the southern minority students, which need to mobilize the wholesociety from schools, government, family and social for the solution. Last but not least,some practical initiatives are provided for constructing the socialist with the scientific conceptof qualified personnel. Such measures include: accelerating the pace of building a moderatelyprosperous society in the Southern, increasing universal education to minority studentsin science and culture, sounding school system, strengthening construction of teachers,reinforcing the "four identity" and the Marxist view of religion education, depth andsustained efforts to combat and to prevent religious activities to penetrate, building a long-term mechanism of sound atheistic education, improving international cooperation to combat the"three forces".
