Study On Current Situation And Countermeasures Of National Traditional Pe In Regular University In Sichuan Province

literature material law, expert interview, questionnaire, mathematical statistics, logic analysis and other methods were used into 12 regular universities in this paper to get to know present situation of establishing a course in national traditional PE in Sichuan province and find the factors which influence that. This paper provides reference for further development of national traditional PE in regular universities in Sichuan province. After analysis of survey results, several problems were found in national traditional PE process in regular universities of Sichuan province.(1) The process is lack of long-term goals, emphasize the body function and mastery of tactical skills too much, and ignore the function of cultivation of students' life-long sports consciousness by using national traditional sports course.(2) On courses selection, there are limited courses for students choose. And the courses are mainly based on the martial arts, which lack of attraction for students. The courses place low levels of importance on theory studying and lack introduction about the national traditional PE.(3) Teaching methods are mainly based on teachers'explanation and demonstration, and ignore students'initiative, the teaching methods are old. (4) Too much importance is stressed on promotion of physical quality and mastery of tactical skills in assessment methods, and the assessment on theory and students'attitude towards learning theory is ignored.(5) The national tradition PE is lack of professional teacher and mainly based on martial arts, and there is no mechanism of professional teachers training.(6) There is no canonical teaching material for national tradition sports, and there are acute shortages on sports apparatus and field, which retard the popularization and development of national tradition PE.(7) There are few extracurricular events and participants of national tradition sports.(8) Although students are interested in national tradition sports, they don't know about it in a low level.
