Twelve-sectioned Exercise, also known as "Sitting Eight-sectioned Exercise" is one of the most popular ways of health preservation in ancient China, highly recommended by many medical scientists and health experts in Ming and Qing dynasty. The new Health Qigong·Twelve-sectioned Exercise, drawing essence from the traditional Twelve-sectioned Exercise, is created on the basis of physical and psychological characteristics of the modern people. To better promote the new way of exercise and understand bodily effects of Health Qigong·Twelve-sectioned Exercise on different people, this paper came to the following conclusions by choosing the elderly and students practitioners as subjects and doing a three-month teaching experiment to determine its effects on human cardiovascular functions:1. For the elderly, it is able to enhance hemal flexibility, reducing the risks of arteriosclerosis while adjusting blood pressure meanwhile which is beneficial to health promotion.2. For the young people, it is able to adjust blood pressure, lower high pressure or stabilize fluctuating blood pressure which preserves and promotes health.
