Psychologists have studied intelligence as a hot subject all the time. In the past century, the researchers put forward their own set of intelligence theory system from various aspects (biology, society, cognition).Their real purpose is to reveal the basic structure and features of intelligence. The theory of Multiple Intelligences is brought out by Harvard University, a psychologist and educationist of Harvard University,Who expounded his understanding of the Intelligence from a new point of view. After the theory being put forward, it achieved particular concern from educators of many countries including china, and it is widely applied to psychological and educational field, As a research about human intelligence, it has a more complete and mature theoretical knowledge framework. Therefore, the theory Is also applied to basic education, but In vocational colleges, the research and application of this theory Is relatively less. The author was lucky enough to read a lot works about the theory of Multiple Intelligences. I studied the history of theory and its present situation and put forward the idea that the theory should be applied to the accounting teaching in vocational colleges. In this paper, first I introduce the theory of Multiple Intelligences review other researcher's achievements, and make further study of the theory's forming process, the development trend, and its connotation and characteristics through the methods of literature review, the survey and analysis, and teaching practice. Therefore, the theory is proved to be feasible both in theory and practice if it is applied to financial accounting teaching. This paper is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction in which the author mainly put forward the significance of the research and domestic and international present situation. The second part is about the introduction of the theory in which the author introduces eight kinds of intelligence concept, characteristic and application. The third part is about financial accounting teaching situation at present, in which the author mainly states vocational college student's intelligence characteristics and a series of problems existing in financial accounting teaching. The forth Part is about inspiration resulting from the theory of the Multiple Intelligences, in this section, the author lists a lot of teaching practice proves from which the author gets such inspiration:if the theory of multiple intelligence is applied to financial accounting teaching, many drawbacks caused by the teaching under the guidance of traditional intelligence mode, and the theory is more suitable for the characteristics of intelligence. Under the guidance of the theory of multiple intelligence, students can be fully aware of their own shortcomings and advantages which can stimulate the students'learning initiative. So, both are good for students to master basic knowledge, improve the ability to analyze and solve problems, and improve students' theoretical knowledge and basic skills. The fifth part is about an example of an accounting class with the characteristics of the theory of multiple intelligence. The author analyzes the relationship between financial accounting course teaching and the theory of multiple intelligence, and puts forward the reflection of teaching practice. All in all, the theory of multiple intelligence can not only be applied to financial accounting teaching in vocational college, but also provide the reference value for other types of professional teaching.
