Under the environment that our nation has been attaching great importance to the vocational education development, we are facing a series of urgent problems, such as how to improve teaching quality; how to make the transition from extension to intension; how to culture multi-specification, multi-level and various talents of high quality and highly-skilled ability. Some vocational colleges applied credit system to deal with the above mentioned problems. But the transformation of applying credit system did not work well as expected because of the fact that most vocational colleges didn't have a good historical basis and the understanding of credit system is not deep and is very superficial to a certain degree. That's why the reform of the credit system doesn't achieve a success. In fact, the success of this reform depends on all aspects. It needs not only the coordination of macroscopic environment of the whole society but also the microcosmic support of the colleges.On the basis of a full interpretation of the conception and application of credit system this thesis makes a close analysis of credit system reform in vocational colleges and discusses the various factors that have influenced the credit system reform through the combination of empirical investigation and particular cases. What's more, after drawing lessons from the application of credit system abroad this thesis also puts forward the following suggestions:the change of education conception; the strengthening of the teaching staff; the innovation of teaching management system; the increase of informatization construction; the improvement of teaching facilities and so on. This thesis aims to give theoretical and practical references to those vocational colleges that are doing the credit system reform and to those that are preparing to do it. This thesis will also provide something valuable on how to improve and promote credit system reform and will provide more powerful motivation to the rapid development of vocational education.
