The Study On The Function Of College Youth Volunteer Activities In Ideological And Political Education Perspective

College youth volunteer activities refer to the voluntary service provided by the college students who are not intended to get material rewards but stimulated by the faith and responsibility in order to promote social progress. As a kind of practical education medium which is mutually complementary with the classroom teaching, college youth volunteer activities can promote ideological and political development in college. But in practice, in order to complete the task organizers always neglect the cultivation of volunteerism of students, leading to the problem that the motivations of college students to volunteer are diversified and even deviated. The factors such like " formalization, and utilitarian" make some volunteer service activities appear "metamorphic". These negative phenomenon need to be given enough attention by ideological and political educators.In this paper, based on the elaboration of the connotation and denotation of college youth volunteer activities, the functions of ideological and political education are analyzed from the aspects of educational, social, and individual function. And through the questionnaires and interviews on four aspects of "the insufficiency of college education forces , lack of educational significance of voluntary service activities, lack of college students volunteer examplary functions, and the impact of negative social atmosphere effects", it can be concluded that there are four factors that restrict the realization of ideological and political education functions in the youth volunteer activities. And the paper puts forward concrete suggestions on how to give full play to the ideological and political education functions in college youth volunteer activities. First, volunteer service should be blended into college courses and credits system. Second, college students volunteer service activities should be designed with the purpose of "branding and long-term change". Third, network platform that is beneficial to college volunteers to interacte and grow should be developed. Fourth, motivation system should be established to strengthen the enthusiasm of college students to participate in the activities.
