Abstract/Summary:
As the rapid development of science and technology and the speeding increase of scientific knowledge, the pace of human society towards to the leaning society is more and more fast, in addition, the demand of knowledge economy era to the education lifelong is becoming apparent, in which situation, the traditional teaching mode and learning mode are eagerly to be changed. Now, China is processing a kind of new round curriculum reform for advocating independent study mode, which aims to the methods of independent study and is a active explore and attempt for the actual status of the education.High school education is combined with cultural education and vocational education. It occupies a special place in the system of national education. In this view, one of the important goals of high school education is to develop the students'capability of independent study.This research will focus on the practice part, and aims to study the case of Xinxiang city second high school in Henan province, to understand the basic opinions that held by part of history teachers, and the difficulties that may occur in the history independent study process. This will help us to make a scientific understand and an analysis on independent study methods in history teaching, as the same time, it will provide reference materials for adjustment of teaching work in this school.According to the research, in the Xinxiang second high school, the independent study method has a positive effect on history study, which shows on that the students have strong learning motivation, and they would love to participate in classroom activities, the students also willing to try learning history by themselves with the guidance of their history teachers. And most of history teachers are willing to change their teaching mode in traditional lectures. However, there are also some problems, for example, the students'want to depend on their teachers, and have low capability of independent study, while for the teachers, and they need to strengthen their professional ability. Furthermore, the current course evaluation system also restricted the history teachers'teaching activities and students'learning activities.To sum up, in this case, the independent study on history classes is according to the principle of "flexibly, individualize, and step by step", and aims to solve the specific problems that occurred in teaching practice, which in order to encourage the recognition of independent study theory, to achieve "the concrete practices guided by general theory, and general theory enriched by concrete practices", to establish the independent study system which combines with the features of school.
