Honesty is a virtue of learning as well as being. College students who want to have genuine ability and learning should abide by the principle of academic honesty. However, the phenomenon of cheating is rather serious in college's testing. The psychological process of cheating in college's testing will be analyzed on this paper which focuses on the relationship of the cheating behaviors in college's testing to the former experiences of successful cheating in testing and to the circumstances in which they committed them, the influence of the changing mentality about cheating to the following action, and the efficacy of external intervention.Firstly, several concepts related to cheating in academic are dissected, the literatures related to cheating in testing are reviewed, and hence the main problems and their research methods are ascertained. Then, a case study is conducted in which some college students' stories of cheating in testing are cast back. Six typical cases are selected to show the college students' experience of the first, crucial and latest cheating in testing. The cheating behaviors are analyzed from the perspectives of psychology and pedagogy and some high influential factors of such behaviors are indentified. According the key factors leading to college students' cheating behaviors, some countermeasures to improve education for academic honesty are finally proposed.The study shows that there exists college students' misunderstanding about cheating in testing. They believe cheating only means copying others' answers in examinations, while providing answers for the others should not be counted as cheating. It is found that cheating and academic pressure is closely related. Succeeding in cheating will be a reinforcement of this kind of fraud behavior. Besides, classmate' attitudes toward cheating play an important role concerning whether to cheat or not. Early interventions by the teacher is quite important, especially the way and the intensity.Based on the above, this study proposes to improve the unsatisfied situation through cognitive intervention, psychological guidance, and behavioral guidance.
