At present, globalization has become a broad vision for our ideological and political education research, and the "multicultural phenomenon" brought about by globalization has also become the reality we have to face. In today's world, multicultural phenomenon continues to move ahead in such dimensions as breadth, depth, strength and density, gradually forms a powerful context, which makes the ideological and political education research system and vision undergo important changes. Thorough discussions on the ideological and political education based on multicultural phenomenon can provide itself with a strong academic basis.Taking "multi-culture" as a starting point under the background of globalization, the text integrates relevant literatures, extends theory and practice space for the ideological and political education research innovatively, and systematically studies multiple paths and methods of college students' ideological and political education under multicultural background. This article mainly discusses in such following aspects.Taking multicultural background as the breakthrough point, it focuses on the following several aspects: "the polysemy of the rich cultures". It mainly gives analysis of cultural meanings in Chinese and western contexts and cultures from the perspective of different theories. The multi-culture highlights under background of global cultures. Paying much attention to multicultural characteristics and perspectives, it gives a rise to some conflicts towards our campus environment arising from multi-culture. What's more, it presents a confrontation between the mass culture and elite culture, collision between traditional cultures and modern cultures and fusion between Chinese and western cultures. At last, it clearly combs the multicultural background in current China, as well as characteristics of multicultural conflicts among university campuses.Taking Guizhou Universities as an instance, the paper analyzes the ideological condition from contemporary university students by using questionnaire. Starting from the main performances from Guizhou University students' ideological condition, this paper systemically discusses their characteristics, such as in pursuit of self-worth, chasing the western cultures and diversified lifestyles during the ideological and political education. In addition, it gives detailed discussions on students' ideological condition characteristics of universities and colleges in Guizhou Province, aiming at proving such characteristics as multiple values, the self-interests and extensive consumerism of college students. Based on the above phenomena and characteristics, the article analyzes students'ideological situation of universities and colleges in Guizhou Province and its causes in such aspects as the development of culture spread, intricate social thoughts, disadvantages of traditional education system and network's impact.The paper gives a detailed analysis of multicultural influences upon contemporary college students' ideological and political education from two aspects of positive and negative effects. As to positive effects, it mainly consists of providing good environment, provide abundant information resources, and develop students' horizons. As to negative effects, it mainly revolves the values, morality, culture identification, ideal and belief of students as well as their choices of university campus culture value.To sum up, the Marxism monism guidance should be insisted in. It demonstrates that the Marxist monism is not only a kind of methodology to grasp the multi-culture, but also the key to unscramble multicultural phenomenon. Taking the perspective as the breakthrough point, the paper presents multiple paths of ideological and political education: strengthen the ideal faith education, the integration of traditional culture, strengthen moral education, and construct the cultural security mechanism. Meanwhile, it deeply discusses the important role of college students'ideological and political education as a carrier from such aspects as material culture, spiritual culture, system culture and behaviors.
