Children's Fearness In Figure Skating And Countermeasures

The skills of figure skating are complicated, beside the basic slide, the jump, step, spin, dance and the match of music are required. Due to the increasing difficulties and other reasons, the primary students are inclined to fear the figure skating.The fear of figure skating affects the students'performance greatly; some students cannot make any progress during the practice, and some students may lose the interest and give in, and some students even drop out. According to the author's experience, the fear of figure skating is a principal reason for the drop-outs.In order to improve the figure skating teaching in the clubs, the thesis tries to analyze the reasons for the fear and find out the way to deal with it. The author carries out researches on 150 children from Beijing All Star Club, Shenzhen Wan Xiang Skating Club and Shenyang Xing Han Figure Skating Club by different methods, such as questionnaire, interview and literature consultation. The reasons of the fear are caused by the subjective factor and the objective factor. The subjective factors consist of the motivation, the personality and the physical condition. The subjective factors are varied. This thesis concentrates on some factors, such as injuries, irony, methods and facilities.Given the analysis of the reasons resulting in the fear of figure skating, the author tries to put forward some strategies in terms of teaching methods, the requirement of teachers, the influence of parents and the teaching environment.
