Lesson Study in Japan which started from the Meiji period have attracted attention of education researchers around the world with its unique characteristics. The feature of Lesson Study is cooperation, teachers improve their teaching ability and lesson through the process of inter-reflection and discussion with each other. As a way of training teachers in the school, Lesson Study is very popular in primary and secondary schools in Japan, and the country protects the rights and obligations of teacher training in the legal and institutional level. Training of primary and secondary school teachers in China is still not mature both in form and content. This study undoubtedly have great significance to professional development of individual teachers and organizational development of schools in China.The paper contains five chapters:The first chapter traces the historical development of Japanese Lesson Study. In the river of the historical development, it started under the occlusion condition in the Meiji period and faced the challenges of the limit of teacher autonomy in the New Education Campaign Period, from difficult development in war to teach autonomy post-war period, the modernization movement of educational content, Lesson Study based on Learning Community becomes the center of school reform. Under the complex social situation, Lesson Study gradually enrich, promote professional development of individual teachers and the entire educational progress in Japan continuously.The second chapter examines the position of Lesson Study in Japanese teacher training system. Under the vertical and horizontal analysis of the Japanese teacher training system, the position of Lesson Study in training system will be clarified.The third chapter clarified the process of Lesson Study. As a way of training in schools, the cycle activities contains teach design, implementation, discussion, teach design again after evaluation and reflection, practical implementation.The fourth chapter is the methods of Lesson Study. Teach analysis as part of the Lesson Study, a variety of perspectives analysis is necessary. Based on the analysis of teach process, this part combing the methods of Lesson Study.The fifth chapter summarizes the characteristics, results and challenges of Japanese Lesson Study. Lesson Study focus on research and teachers collective reflection. Lesson Study played a important role to professional development of individual teachers and organizational development of schools in Japan. At the same time, there are still some problems to be solved and challenges still existence.
