Purpose:To research and explore the effect of the swimming and cordyceps sinensis on immune function by analyzing the change of expression of Splenic CD4~+CD25~+Treg and Serum IL-2, IL-10 before and after the experiments. Methods:The experimental method is animal experimentation. In the experiment, 120mice were randomly divided into control group (30), cordyceps group (30) and exercise group (30), and cordyceps plus exercise group (30). Under the same feeding conditions, control group did not take exercise; exercise group did a 4-weeks weight-bearing (5% of the body weight) swimming; cordyceps group was only fed with cordyceps preparation; and cordyceps plus exercise group did exercise and was fed with liquid of cordyceps at the same time. The splenic and thymus was taken and blood samples was collected separately before exercise intervention and in 24 hours after the last swimming of the 2nd and 4th week. After the experiment, the spleen index and thymus index was accounted all together, and took flow cytometry for detecting expression of CD4~+CD25~+Treg, and ELISA method for measuring serum IL-2 and IL-10 levels. SPSS11.5 software was used to process the data of the experiments.Results:1. After 4-weeks swimming, the spleen index and thymus index of exercise group reduced compared with control group (P<0.05, P<0.01). The spleen index of cordyceps group increased (P<0.05) but thymus index had no significant change (P>0.05). And the spleen index and thymus index of cordyceps plus exercise group did not change (P>0.05).2. After 4-weeks swimming, compared with control group, the expression levels of Splenic CD4~+CD25~+Treg of exercise group increased in the 2nd and 4th week (P<0.01, P<0.05). The expression levels of cordyceps plus exercise group also increased in the 4th week (P<0.05). And the expression levels of exercise group was higher than cordyceps plus exercise group (P<0.01).3. After 4-weeks swimming, the serum levels of IL-2 of exercise group in the 2nd and 4th week increased compared with control group (P<0.01, P<0.05). And the serum levels of IL-2 of cordyceps plus exercise group in the 2nd week increased compared with control group ( P<0.05).4. After 4-weeks swimming, the serum levels of IL-10 of exercise group and cordyceps plus exercise group in the 4th week increased compared with control group (P<0.01, P<0.05), and the levels of exercise group was higher (P<0.01).Conclusions:1. 4-weeks swimming can delay the growth of spleen of mice and accelerate atrophy of their thymus, thus affecting development and function of the immune organ.2. 4-weeks swimming can induce T cells activation and then increase the expression levels of Splenic CD4~+CD25~+Treg and the serum levels of IL-10 mice, and induce immune deviation.3. Cordyceps can promote the development of spleen and slow atrophy of thymus of mice, resist the increase of the expression levels of Splenic CD4~+CD25~+Treg after 4-weeks swimming, and maintain the immunologic balance.
