With the approach of informatization and the age of reading pictures, people was required to have not only the ability to read and write, but also the ability to interpret and apply the visual information. As middle school students of Information Age, they can't adapt to the ever-changing social living environment, unless they are equipped with the good visual information processing ability. The ability to"read, interpret and use"the visual information is known as the visual literacy, which can't be formed in a short period. It needs a long time training. Now the training of the visual literacy has increasingly become an important research topic to educators. According to the research of the training of domestic visual literacy, we found it mainly focuses on the stage of university and kindergarten, but the junior high school stage is involved relatively small. Therefore, the training of junior high school students'visual literacy is an urgent and meaningful work.According to the abroad current research situation, the training of visual literacy can be realized by setting up separate visual literacy course or integration with other subjects. On the basis of the domestic literature on visual literacy training, we found most visual literacy education is combined with art education discipline. However in my opinion, visual literacy training not only enhances the students'understanding and creative ability of the visual information, but also improves the ability using visual information to exchange and solve problems. We should permeate visual literacy education into every course. Therefore, the author takes the advantages of information technology teaching, blends the visual literacy education in the teaching process, and improve the students' information technology meanwhile develop their visual literacy.This paper was studied by documentation, questionnaire investigation, interview and action research. Through literature study, the author defined the connotation of visual literacy,analyzed the domestic and abroad research and the latest progress of "visual literacy", researched the feasibility of visual literacy training in junior high school information technology teaching. Then the author invested the junior high school students of Donggang District in Rizhao City. By analyzing the investigation, the author got the basic situation of visual literacy in junior high school students. The author explained the information technology curriculum standard, analyzed the teaching materials, interviewed the information technology teachers,and then understood the teaching status. On this basis, combining with the teaching reality, the author put forward the basic strategy of visual literacy training in junior information technology teaching. First, relying on information technology teaching, penetrate visual literacy education into it; secondly, developing the information technology extracurricular practice activities, based on special study on the web site, cultivate visual literacy; thirdly, design visual literacy project activities by using information technology research study. And taking it as a guide, design some teaching cases of visual literacy training, try it in information technology teaching in middle school. Finally, through the analysis of the case, this paper concludes visual literacy training implementation mode that based on junior high school information technology ,which provide theoretical and practical certain basis for junior students'visual literacy education.
