The Study Of High School Students' Portable Media Usage

With the development of technology, cell phones started stepping in our lives and even h became some people's daily necessities. Because of their beautiful and portable design, MP3 and MP4 have become very popular in senior school students. By studying the current situation of portable media, helping high school students to use media wisely can be achieved. Especially, the related strategies provided in this dissertation can be of some reference to those secondary education administrators to a certain degree.I made a questionnaire to survey the four senior school students in Changsha and liuyang about the effects of using portable media on them. From perspectives of pedagogy, psychology, management and other disciplines, this dissertation surveyed and analyzed the current situation of high school students using portable media by using the combined qualitative and quantitative research methods: (1).This dissertation explored the positive impact on high school students in using portable media. (2).It revealed a variety of adverse consequences on students. (3).The dissertation also analyzed the causes of adverse consequences of high school students using portable media. Some came from the students themselves; some were from their family, schools and society. In response to the above causes, the following strategies were provided:1. Controlling the negative impact of portable media on senior school students depends on the continuous improvements of their self-control, the development of good habits of using internet.2. Schools need to strengthen the supervision of using portable media. We teachers should have clear aims in class and try to arouse the students'interest of learning when using portable media. Regarding the occurred problems and bad behaviors, schools should understand and care more about students.3. Parents should emphasize family education and communicate more with schools. Parents should also understand and respect their children on their usage of media. They should communicate more with students and guide their children how to use media correctly.4. The whole society needs work together to establish a good social environment for our high school students to reduce the impact of harmful information on senior students.
