In this paper, career self-barrier factor is in the occupational career development process, the staff of individual takes psychological reasons as adverse factors in their career development .This study suggests that because of women's sensitive characteristics ,their career development was more vulnerable affected by psychological factors. So it's necessary to probe which psychological factors will hinder the career development of women. The main aim of the study is to develop a scale for measuring the level of women's career self-barriers.Through the literature, open-investigation and psychology expert open discussion, the theoretical hypothesis was constructed. There are five dimensions: self-efficacy, achievement motive, career expectations, family oriented concept and dependence. On the basis of these, we established the scale of female career self-barriers, and has carried on the survey to 226 career women. We repeatedly revised scale by carrying item analysis, factor analysis on the scale and repeatedly revision with expert. Further we examined the reliability and validity of the Career Self-Barriers Scale for Female by many indexes. And then we assessed the extent of young women career self-barriers. We finally examined the relationship between the various dimensions of women in career self-barriers and social comparison of young female's career development. The main results of this study are as follow:(1)The self-designed scale about female career self-barriers comprises five dimensions: self-efficacy, to avoid failure of achievement motive, family oriented concept, career expectations and dependence.(2) The internal consistency coefficient (Cronbachαcofficient), individual item reliability, content validity, face validity and construct validity of the self-designed scale about female career self-barriers were good. This scale could be used to test the degree of female career self-barriers.(3) Young female's career self-barriers degree is low. (4) There is significant positive correlation between dependence and social comparison of young female's career development. There are no significant correlation between other dimensions of career self-barriers and social comparison of young female's career development.
