| The modern primary and secondary school Education of The Labor Technology Education in China derived from Labor and Work during the period of ROC. As an important part of China's education modernization, the subject was not taken seriously. However, it was one of the most changeable subjects during the period of ROC. This subject had various function including cultivating the students' habits for work, aesthetic ability and creative ability, ideological morality and learning the knowledge and skills of labor by participating the school activities, housework, farming, craft education. Chinese society had undergone unprecedented significant changes from Renxu Educational System to Anti-Japanese War. In this special period, Chinese and western cultural lied in great conflict and collision, which had a huge impact on the education during the period of ROC, and led to many changes and development of Labor and Work education in primary and secondary schools.The paper attempts to summarize the factors influencing development and change of Labor and Work education in primary and secondary school from the perspective of history, and show what had been changed because of these factors. The research can help put forward the constructive suggestions for the reform of The Labor Technology Education in our primary and secondary school now. This paper mainly adopts three methods for the research, such as literature study, historical analysis and comparison. The authors focused on development of Labor and Work education from the implementation of Renxu Educational System to Anti-Japanese War and summarize the background and reasons of the two major changes concerned about Handwork, Work with Art and Labor and Work. The course standards, curriculum implementation status were clarified and some main viewpoints of scholars were presented at that time.The characteristic of the changes were also shown in the research.In the conclusion section, this paper summarizes the four features of development and change of Labor and Work education in primary and secondary school from Renxu Educational System to Anti-Japanese War. To begin with, the development of Labor and Work education was regarded as "blind accepting" and then "reference fusion" and "self-innovation"; Second, the perspective of system by comparison, it presents ideals—compromise—realistic three states; Third, from the historical factors of promoting the development Labor and Work education, it changed along with political and education trend; Finally, Labor and Work was not taken seriously and lack of its own uniqueness. |
