With the rapid development of the society, our life has been impacted by the rapidly increased knowledge and the great deal of information. We are facing the brain storm. People's attention has been attracted by the way of maximizing the effectiveness of reading during the limited time. It is imperative to improve the way of reading and the reading speed as well.Since 2004, our school has carried out the research on the effectiveness of fast reading among these students in senior grades. This research has lasted for six years. During these six years, it has been developed and adjusted through our reflection. A more scientific understanding and evaluation of fast reading has been gradually formed under the guidance of our school's educational philosophy "To creat the education that is suitable for the development of each child" and "All for children". The individual differences of the students should be respected. The autonomy and initiative of the students should be fully mobilized. These are the important ways for practising Chinese. On the way of exploring this research project, testing and grading are found to be the effective research evidence. Based on the practice principle of respecting individual differences, this research summarize and popularize the achievement of the study on the effectiveness on fast reading in senior grades of our school. Students' passion for learning is lighted and their overall Chinese accomplishment is enhanced. Meanwhile, some problems concerning fast reading are also found in this practicing process. For these problems, some solutions and suggestions are presented. There are five chapters. Chapter One presents the purpose and the significance of this study. Chapter Two deals with the current situation of reading in senior grades of primary school. The research and the development at home and abroad are also discussed. Chapter Three touches upon issues with regard to the methods and strategies of the study on the effectiveness of fast reading in senior grades of our school. Chapter Four provides a summary through testing and analyzing of fast reading in'senior grades of our school. Chapter Five presents the limitations of the current study, as well as suggestions. This research has attracted the attention of the experts and has been highly appreciated. After listening to our summary of this research project, Zhu Yueyue in Wenzhou educational training and research institute said, "it is quite good to conduct this valuable research for students'long-term development". He also gave me some useful suggestions. He said, "I have seen many research projects on reading, but rarely on fast reading. This study could be the reference to inspire other people. I suggest that you would better to faithfully record the gains and losses, as well as the pros and cons. These all could be the empirical evidence for other researchers. In this research process, Principal Bai Lili said appreciatively, "you are thoughtful and this research has its own value. Try your best to do it!"...
