Transition Higher Art Vocational College Students' Ideological And Political Work Research

There are 18 public art vocational colleges in China by November 2010. In 21 September 2000, the first art vocational college, Shanxi art vocational college, is founded, which is authorized by the people's government of Shanxi Province and is recorded by China's ministry of education. Henan art vocational college is authorized by Henan provincial government to prepare to construct in 2003. It is until March 2010 that Henan art vocational college is recorded by China's ministry of education and becomes the 18th public art vocational college in China. It takes them 7 years to prepare and construct Henan art vocational college. Analyzing the development process of the existing 18 art vocational colleges in China, we find that most of them experienced the transitional period from technical secondary schools to higher vocational colleges.Art vocational college is different from professional art undergraduate colleges, comprehensive art undergraduate universities and art departments in comprehensive universities in major setting, training goal, development process etc. It has its own particularity. The problem of how to manage students in art vocational colleges, especially how to strengthen students' political consciousness during the transitional period, is key to the future success of these colleges. It affects the teaching and managing of these colleges directly. The study on students' political education during the transitional period in art vocational colleges is rather weak because of the short development time of art vocational education in china. In Henan province, we have no such study.This paper explores the problems in students'political education during the transitional period in art vocational colleges by using Henan art vocational college as an example which is the sole comprehensive and typical art college in Henan.Through the questionnaire, we find that in Henan art vocational college students' ideological and moral aspects are stable and healthy, and students' socialist world outlook, the outlook on life and the mainstream values are positive, healthy and pragmatic. The investigation of students' ideological status quo reflects that Henan art vocational college needs to strengthen its work during the transitional period on the emphasis of political education, quality of ideological and political work team, working mechanism, the team structure optimization, theory research etc. During the transitional period, students'political education faces internal and external influences. The external influences are mainly socialist market economy, multicultural factors, and various policies. The internal influences are mainly the management system, the concept, the complexity of the object during the transitional period. In view of the above factors, the author puts forward the problem-solving ideas. The first idea is to renew concept and build good political education environment for the students. The second idea is to strengthen the construction of teachers'team for students'political education. The third idea is to create a new situation for student's ideological and political education in art vocational college by the construction of teachers'ethics and campus culture, psychology education, and guidance for employment.Through an empirical survey, we find questions, analysis the causes of these questions, and put forward solutions to these questions. In accordance with this, we can better solve the existing problems in political education during the transitional period of art vocational colleges.
