Visual-spatial intelligence is one of the multiple intelligences proposed by Gardner. It's an important cognitive ability for an individual, as well as the basic skill for our daily life. The development of visual-spatial intelligence has a close relationship with middle school students' learning in many courses, such as mathematics, physics and art.Training and developing students' visual-spatial intelligence can help to develop their creativity,so visual-spatial intelligence plays an important role in students' study and growth. To train and develop students' visual-spatial intelligence,we must know how their visual-spatial intelligence has developed. So evaluation of their visual-spatial intelligence is necessary. The key steps of visual-spatial intelligence assessment is to design rational and targeted evaluation scale and give accurate and scientific evaluation results. Through a lot of literature researches, we found that there were many problems in current visual-spatial intelligence assessment, and the most important problem is that most of the testing questions emphasize too much on the preference, interest, or self-described of the objects, but not the capability. To resolve these problems, this article take Professor Gardner's measurement theory as a guide and Dr. Zhang Guoxiang's 15 items of visual-spatial intelligence as a base, to analyse the meaning of the items detailed. According to the nature meaning of the items themselves and the "intelligence contextualized" emphasized by Gardner, we redesigned the items, and changed the existing visual-spatial intelligence test form (questionnaire) to a computer scenario-based form. Through multimedia technology to create virtual scenarios, each assessment item design some tasks in a certain situations, and the testees were asked to finish these tasks. Each task was designed to assessment one of the "inferior intelligence" of visual-spatial intelligence, to estimate the testees'solving problems ability. In order to guarantee applicability of the computer scenario-based items, the author choose representative tester from middle school students in Nanjing to make pre-tests. In order to select and modify the assessment items, we use SPSS software to analyze evaluation results to calculate the discrimination, validity and reliability. The test results show that:the items have stable reliability, good validity, and it is suitable as middle school students'visual-spatial intelligence test tools. The author also build a assessment system,so the testers can do the assessment on the Internet. The system uses Browser/Server structure, do not need to install the applicationprogram and it's easy to use and maintance. The system's operation interfaces are clear and beautiful. During the test, the evaluation data are collected, analysed and processed by computer, so it not only shorten the time of data analysis, but greatly reduces the manpower and material resources, and makes the results more accurate.
