| Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa. It is one of the least developed countries that the United Nations declared in the world. Malawi established diplomatic relations with China on December 2007.Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the rapid development of bilateral relations between Malawi and China. Areas of cooperation related to agriculture, technology, medical, sports and so on. Malawi is learned more and more by the people. With other African countries, Malawi people warm, confident, athletic, like sports. Table tennis is an emerging sport in Malawi, the development is fast. In August 2010 the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, Malawi national table tennis men's team final in all participating countries, ranked 19, table tennis is the second best score of all items in the sports that Malawi to participate. Table Tennis is also increasingly concerned and like by the people of Malawi.In this paper, we researched the history of Malawi national table tennis team, the status of the partitions, development, and sport venues in Malawi, through literature, questionnaire, interview and mathematical statistics. We summarized the reasonableness of the development of Table Tennis in Malawi, and identified the problems in this sport, aimed to promote it to carry out better and provided some suggestions for other sports. To deepen the understanding between the two countries, enhance the friendship between the two peoples, promote and spread the world peace. Survey results show that:1, Malawi mass table tennis participants mainly enterprises, public sector employees, self-employed and freelancers based, generally the higher income levels, age presents the characteristics of younger and far more than men women.2. Malawi has three thousand types of schools, until now only 15 schools to carry out the table tennis. The proportion is very small. In these schools which has been carried table tennis, the motivation is not a single but diversified. However, subject to various conditions, really participate in the sport are not many students.3. Malawi national team is very young, from the construction team to now just gone through the course of 10 years, in the last two years have made breakthrough achievements. Almost none of the national team coaches and athletes to be professional coaches or athletes, in addition to training and competition, they also have their own work or school. Obviously, this is difficult to complete the training and competition goals, seriously affect the exercise levels.4. The main factors which can obstruction the develop of table tennis in Malawi:level of economic constraints, leading pay enough attention, invested too little, facility, poor facilities, coaching and professional training opportunities for low levels of small, short training time and the game players exchange small ,space and weather, and so on.Based on these findings reflect the problems, made the following suggestions:1. Step up publicity. Improve leadership, public awareness and interest in table tennis, to create a good atmosphere for table tennis, let more people to participate in this sport, to promote the popularity of table tennis in Malawi.2. Increased its fund input. Expansion of construction and renovation sites, purchase of table tennis equipment, improve the training allowance subsidies with coaches training and prize money with athletes, let they have security of life and learning, to have more time and energy into training to race.3. Increase the intensity of the construction of Table tennis coaches. Give more learning and training for business, please come to the guidance of foreign coaches, let the coaches out of the country to learn.4. Improve the system for various competitions, increase domestic competitions at all levels, stimulate the development of table tennis, create more opportunities for the national team to participate in international competitions, increased competition experience.5. Full use of aid that International organizations and other countries, accelerate the pace of development of table tennis in Malawi. |
